A Major Career Step for Elisa Orrù
Legal Philosopher Receives Prestigious Heisenberg Funding
Max Planck researcher Elisa Orrù has been admitted to the prestigious Heisenberg Program for her project "Autonomy: Concept, Value, and Challenges of a Key Philosophical Concept."
This opens up several attractive career paths for the legal philosopher: she can choose between a Heisenberg position, the highly regarded Heisenberg Fellowship, or a so-called Heisenberg Professorship. The decision will be made over the next six months.
Elisa Orrù is a Senior Researcher in the Department of Public Law at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law in Freiburg. In January 2020, she completed her habilitation at the University of Freiburg and was granted the venia legendi in philosophy.
With the Heisenberg Program, the German Research Foundation (DFG) aims to support outstanding scientists on their path to a leading academic position. The program's stated goal is to enable funded researchers to continue their high-caliber projects at a location of their choice and to further enhance their academic reputation.
